The birds and animals eat the berries and their waste then acts as a natural fertilizer nourishing the soil to feed the berry bushes and promote regeneration, as do the remains of the birds and animals. The 3 hummingbirds share the colours of the salmonberry bush, representing how we are the land and the food that grows from it. Hummingbirds are typically associated with joy, a lightness of being, and movement. Certain families carried the responsibility of managing things and making difficult decisions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe human saw all this and more and thanked the Killer Whales for sharing these teachings with him. He swam back to the shore and transformed back into a man. He shared what he had seen and the people began to live in this way and thrive. They were able to develop art, stories, ceremonies, trade and travel.
